Madrid is the capital of Spain (since 1562) and also the capital of the autonomous community of Madrid. It is situated in the geographic centre of the Iberian Peninsula. However Marbella (Costa del Sol) is known for its impressive harbour and fashionable shops. Many celebrities and other wealthy foreigners buy property in this affluent and cosmopolitan coastal town.
